I am so happy with Osweald! I received my copy in the mail this week and I have been reading a chapter a day since. This is so inspiring. I have been planning on writing a graded reader for students of Middle Dutch for years now (on and off), but with only the draft of three chapters finished I started to dispair: Is this kind of endeavor at all feasible? Well, Osweald Bera shows it is. Thank you so much!
>I soon realized that the book would be much better if it introduced readers not only to the language but to something of the history, culture, and literature of the language and its speakers. That was the first big change in my conception of the project.
I am SO excited that pre-orders are open! Congratulations - and I love reading about everything that went in to writing the book!
Thank you! The next-to-last step in a long journey :D
These posts about how you wrote Osweald Bera are super enjoyable
Thank you so much!

I'm so glad to hear it! And I hope you finish your Middle Dutch reader – I'll be the first in line to buy it!

Ah, scope creep! My old friend!
"We do these things not because they are easy, but because we thought they were going to be easy."
Hmm! I'm not sure – if you email the publisher they may know: vergilpress@ancientlanguage.com
